本片根據英國喜劇天才露意絲·任尼森創作的八本日記體小說的第一本改編而成，以主人公十四歲女孩喬治婭·尼爾森日記形式展開，把青春期女孩子的煩惱、心痛、沮喪和調皮描寫得入木叁分，里面的無處不在的英國式幽默更是讓人爆笑不已，堪稱更加低齡版的《BJ單身日記》。小“恐龍妹”喬治婭（喬治婭·格洛梅飾）養了一只名叫安格斯的瘋狂滑稽的貓，還有一對古怪的父母和一個常在她的床上撒尿的叁歲小妹妹，她最好的死黨杰絲（艾莉諾·湯姆金森飾）竟然愛上了水果店老板的兒子。然而喬治婭已經管不了這些，因為她意外邂逅了夢中的白馬王子、綽號為“Sex God”（SG）的男孩羅比（亞倫·約翰遜飾），她該為每天該穿什么衣服上學而發愁，同時必須趕快學會接吻……
