My name is David Cook. I'm a singer/songwriter from Virginia. This is my music. Enjoy. "I'm very excited to announce that I'm going to be releasing a solo EP on July 20, 2010. It's different from anything I've ever done with my band, My Favorite Highway, but it's still what you have come to expect from me as a songwriter. I don't usually write love songs, but all of the songs on this record are love songs. It's all based on acoustic guitar, and the lyrics are very honest and exposed. These are probably some of the most poetic and beautiful songs I've ever written. Vocally, it's much more soulful than anything else I've ever done before. The idea to write a record that wasn't based on piano because I usually write all of my songs on piano, so I made a rule that I could only write these songs on acoustic guitar. There aren't any drums on the EP, instead I used other creative elements to give the songs rhythm and movement. It's a very different record for me and I am very, very proud of it." - David Cook
