The Morningside是一支俄羅斯的四人黑暗厄運金屬樂團 THE MORNINGSIDE has begun as a studio project few years ago, started by Igor Nikitin (vocals, guitar) and Ilya Yergorychev (bass). Beginning with thrash/death-metal, they later switched to atmospheric Doom in best traditions of early KATATONIA and OPETH. After recording a demo with new members as the full band THE MORNINGSIDE were signed to BadMoodMan, sub-division of legendary Russian Doom-Metal SOLITUDE PRODUCTION label. Their music has matured since that time, and their debut album released this summer shows their best qualities: searing extremal vocals, excellent guitar work (with influences ranging from THE CURE to IRON MAIDEN!) and powerful rhythm-section. THE MORNINGSIDE sounds very heavy yet atmospheric, reminding me of OPETH, AGALLOCH and some Post-Metal like PELICAN or NEUROSIS.
