Imagine Dragons is an alternative rock band based in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Imagine Dragons is a four-piece rock band based in Las Vegas, Nevada; they formed in 2008. After winning several battle of the band competitions, the band entered the studio for the first time in 2009. They released two EPs titled Imagine Dragons EP and Hell and Silence EP in 2010, both recorded at Battle Born Studios. Imagine Dragons signed to major label Interscope Records in November 2011. They are working closely with producer Alex Da Kid with whom they recorded their first major label release at Westlake Recording Studios in West Hollywood, California. The EP is entitled Continued Silence and it was released on Valentine's Day (February 14, 2012) digitally. Shortly after, "It's Time" was released as a single and began charting on the Billboard Alternative and Billboard Rock charts. The music video debuted on April 17, 2012 on all MTV affiliates and the band was named MTV PUSH Artist of the Week. A first teaser released March 28, 2012. The video has since been nominated for an MTV Video Music Award in the "Best Rock Video" category. "It's Time" also gained fame after being used in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" trailer. Glee will also be covering the song on their Season 4 premier on September 13, 2012. Billboard Magazine listed them as one of "2012's Brightest New Stars". New song "Lost Cause" is also featured on the upcoming soundtrack Frankenweenie: Unleashed to the forthcoming Disney and Tim Burton film Frankenweenie alongside other alternative rock artists. Imagine Dragons have performed live on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (2012) and Jimmy Kimmel Live! (2012). The band announced they would be entering Studio X inside Palms Casino Resort to finish recording their debut album Night Visions in the summer of 2012 and releasing the album on the day after Labor Day (September 4, 2012). They will tour with Awolnation in the fall of 2012 in addition to performing at summer festivals including SXSW, MTV Woodie Awards Festival, Summerfest, Bunbury Music Festival, Firefly Music Festival, Riot Fest Chicago, and others.
