John 5是一個(gè)被低估的吉他巨人。 他熔化各式各樣的音樂(lè)風(fēng)格，混合和烙記成所他的個(gè)人特色。 John 5原名John Lowery，于1971年7月31日出生于美國(guó)Michigan州Grosse Point郡，七歲的時(shí)后在圣誕節(jié)得到一把吉他，從此就愛(ài)上搖滾樂(lè)，John的父母支持他的音樂(lè)志向，Van Halen的音樂(lè)給他相當(dāng)大的啟示，精湛的彈奏技巧讓John 5成為 金屬怪客 Marilyn Manson第五任御用吉它手。并曾經(jīng)擔(dān)任日本吉他大廠Ibanez和美國(guó)一流吉他品牌Fender的形象代言人。 2004年4月, John 5離開(kāi)Marilyn Manson的樂(lè)團(tuán)，展開(kāi)個(gè)人事業(yè)，精湛的技巧和個(gè)人特色贏得美國(guó)知名搖滾唱片公司Shrapnel掌門(mén)人Mike Varney的青睞，簽約于期下，2004年處女作Vertigo發(fā)表，震撼了搖滾樂(lè)界，Guitar World、Guitar Player、Young Guitar….等全球知名吉他雜志紛紛報(bào)導(dǎo)，喻為味來(lái)的吉他之星。 2005年第二張專輯 Songs Of Sanity發(fā)表，大師地位已告確定。 John 5的兩張個(gè)人吉他演奏專輯就風(fēng)格而言是多元性的，他的確將很多音樂(lè)橋段運(yùn)用了鄉(xiāng)村音樂(lè)的元素，而且有幾支是非常鄉(xiāng)村的演奏曲，Chicken Pickin的奏法處處可見(jiàn)，可是畢竟直接從聽(tīng)覺(jué)效果來(lái)說(shuō)，專輯還是帶有相當(dāng)濃厚的重金屬搖滾風(fēng)味(Metal & Hard Rock)，并且融入些兇悍的工業(yè)之聲(Industrial)，有時(shí)還能夠穿插點(diǎn)爵士(Jazz)和藍(lán)調(diào)(Blue)，甚至由于John 5有意識(shí)的加入了不少灰暗元素進(jìn)去，因此專輯又有些Grunge和 Hardcode的感覺(jué)，可以說(shuō)是加百家之精華于一，John 5將點(diǎn)弦、掃弦、勾打、扭推、速?gòu)棥u桿等各種高超精湛的技巧運(yùn)用自如，大量的半音音階混合著琶音游走全曲，John 5的作品簡(jiǎn)直就是一個(gè)技術(shù)寶庫(kù)，有待我們?nèi)ヂl(fā)掘，而且難得的就是John 5本身的一些獨(dú)創(chuàng)的技術(shù)也運(yùn)用在里面，更是讓人深深著迷驚艷萬(wàn)分。John 5的手指就像是魔術(shù)師般，爆發(fā)出難以想象的魅力，不費(fèi)吹灰之力就征服所有樂(lè)迷的耳朵，徹底擄獲每個(gè)人的心。John 5，他將成為年輕一代吉他手們的偶像！ Born in Grosse Pointe, MI, and picking up a guitar at the tender age of seven, John Lowery was given the nickname John 5 the day he joined Marilyn Manson's band. A versatile session guitarist known for his speed as well as his keen goth fashion sense (imagine Brandon Lee in The Crow), after moving to L.A. at 18 years old he scored high-profile gigs touring with Lita Ford and k.d. lang from his work scoring soundtracks and commercials with producer Bob Marlette. Studio work continued, as he contributed to ex-Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford's industrial metal group Two and ex-Van Halen singer/showboat David Lee Roth's The DLR Band album. Initially rejected in his first audition to play guitar with Manson, John was asked to join Manson on the Rock Is Dead tour, following guitarist Zim Zum's departure. Two albums were completed with Manson, Holy Wood (In the Shadow of a Valley of Death) and The Golden Age of Grotesque, before John 5 left to pursue a solo career. His debut record, Vertigo, was released in 2004, and that year he founded Loser, a more radio-friendly band, with vocalist Joe Grah of Jibe. His second solo album, Songs for Sanity, followed in 2005, just as he paired up with White Zombie's Rob Zombie for Ozzfest. John contributed to the majority of songs on Zombie's 2006 release, Educated Horses, and decided to disband Loser to tour with Zombie for the next year. His third solo outing, Devil Knows My Name, gained recognition from a guitarworld reader's poll, awarding him with Best Shred Album of the Year. With albums by Rob Zombie, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Filter in the works, June of 2008 marked the release of his fourth solo album, Requiem, which was promoted with a West Coast tour of the Guitar Center retail music chain. 更多>>
