by Jason Lymangrover Slick indie-electro poppers Matt Locher and Zach Coulter of Solid Gold met in college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2000. They were introduced when a mutual friend at the school was putting together a group. The three made an EP as Solid Gold, before that friend was replaced by Adam Hurlburt in 2004. With the new foundation set, the trio relocated to Minneapolis in 2005 and got respective day jobs as a cook, a wine salesman, and a bartender, as they gigged and prepped their first full length.
